Getting Ready For Rwanda

The Spring mission to Rwanda is almost upon me.....time has really flown since I got back from India in January. A lot of time has been spent on updating and renewing our website - I am almost there but there are still things to finesse and other things to include that are not there yet.

I set off on Friday 3Oth March and return on 1st May. This mission trip will be based mainly in Kigali at our ministry centre. This will give me the chance to spend time at the Alpha Community Academy, where we are supporting the school fees of several children who are particularly vulnerable or impoverished. I am looking forward to meeting the new headmaster, Ernest. Of course I will be involved at the Mango Tree Church as a member of the leadership team there. It is good to be hands on and to join in as one of the members.

Over the Easter weekend I will be receiving a delegation from "Cup of Cool Water" who will travel up from Burundi to spend a few days with me at the ministry centre. It will be so good to see Charles, Rose and Ezekiel once again and to spend time praying together and planning the strategy for the building of the Mbabazi Clinic. This is our main project goal for 2012.

The final two weeks will bring Susan and Ruth of "Open Hands" from South Wales back to Rwanda. I will be working closely with them in their very special ministry to the deaf at the Mango Tree Church.

Finally, I am looking forward to seeing my dear friends Winnie and Bishop Louis once more. I hope the boys will be back from their boarding school for the Easter break.

That is all for now. I will be updating this regularly once I am in Rwanda - internet connections permitting of course.

    1. Thank you Allan, Charles, Rose and Ezekiel arrived this afternoon. Winnie and Louis are doing fine. Alpha is very quiet - the children and staff are on their Easter vacation.
